Top Beauty Trends To Try This Winter

Posted on
Winter beauty can be tricky. Weather wrecks havoc on our skin and dressing for practicality over style almost always comes first. We've listed the seasons top trends for care-free style and beautiful skin that will last through spring.
This winter is all about hydration. That's why we're turning to skin oils to give us that youthful, dewy look, with the added benefit of better skin. There are loads of oils on the market, all with different benefits, but if you're looking for hydration look out for ingredients like argan, borage seed, safflower, sea buckthorn, squalane, sweet almond, and camellia oils. These are great for their ability to hydrate, without clogging pores. If you're using it in the morning, opt for fast absorbing products, for layering with makeup, but if you're going with a night time routine, anything goes. Just make sure you use it last, after your creams and serums. Since oils have the ability to create a barrier to lock in moisture, they can also lock out the ingredients of anything applied after.

Just like your skin, the winter takes a toll on our soft lips; that's why its so important to pay extra attention during these dry months. Lip oils are the perfect way to add a little extra oomph to any outfit while keeping your lips ultra hydrated and fresh all winter long. They're the perfect mix of hydrating lip balm and shinny lip gloss (without the sticky mess). Our faves include the YSL Volupte Tint-In-Oil, which comes in a range of coloured tints, or the Hourglass No.28 Lip Treatment Oil, which is packed with essential oils (14, in fact) and colourless. Perfect for statement eye looks.

At the 2019 Winter shows, models from brands like Chanel and Dolce and Gabbana sported more minimal makeup looks that showcased soft pink cheeks. So we've taken ques from the best and ditched our bronzers in favour of blush, for a flushed, fresh look during winter.

Hair accessories ruled the runway this season. With headbands being the most popular. Whatever your style, there is a headband to match. Take style ques from Simone Roche's Tiara inspired or the more edgy chain looks from Balmain.  We love this trend as its such as easy way to add extra detail to any outfit, that can be taken from the office to dinner with ease.

Chains were front and centre for this seasons runway. Brands like Miu Miu and Balenciaga showed very different styles of the trend, but undeniably, they were oversized and chunky. The longer, Miu Miu pieces make a great statement for girls night, but if you're looking for a more everyday take on this trend, look for slightly oversized pieces for easy accessorising this season.
