South Australia arguably has some of the best wines. We are now listed on the international fine wine map. How lucky are we, South Australia? We decided to pair certain occasions matching our favourite wine choices. These options will have your taste buds tingling and heart racing. Are you ready to boogie?
The Rockford Basket Press will have all your 5 senses tingling. Incredibly complex on the palate ranging from many different vintages, most people can relate it has a slight earthy taste, as well as a hint of black fruit and cinnamon. A dark red for fulfilling those winter, snugly vibes around a large camp fire with friends, or on the couch with your loved ones cuddled up at home. The Basket Press is a little pricey, although for those special winter occasions it is definitely worth. Rockford winery is situated in the beautiful Barossa Valley. Rockfords are one of kind, 100% worth a try!
Shaw and Smith Sauvignon Blanc
This vibrant, zesty white is perfect for a spring picnic with friends. Also great to bring along to a spring/summer BBQ. Currently in it's 30th vintage, the Adelaide Hills based winery has set a benchmark for one of the best in Australia. Offering notes of lime, nashi pear and passionfruit it will have your body feeling all sorts of summer/spring vibes. A well balanced white wine with a well balanced price tag. White wine lovers, this one is for you!
Handorf Hill Winery Rosé
A gold medal winner for the International wine competition this year, Handorf Hill Rosé is also perfect for those spring/summer BBQ catch ups with friends. It is full of crisp, fresh fruity notes of strawberry and cherry. The sweet, pink colour is incredibly appealing, as well as the price, it will make you want to keep on sipping (make sure you pace yourself). It's one of those wines to have a catchup with friends over on a warm spring/summer night.
Adelaide Hills Distillery 78 ˚ Dry Gin
