Our top 10 fave looks from the 2019 Met Gala

Posted on
The most anticipated event on the 1st of May is finally here. This year the Met Gala goes to camp. Waking up to every single social media platform covering this desirable event, we can’t help but also salivate at the outfits being put forth on the carpet. It has been a hard time for us trying to limit our choices to 10 when everyone looks OTT, glam, and scrumptiously wonderful, but here goes nothing!
1. Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga gracefully walked - wait, we mean, stripped down a series of Brandon Maxwell dresses into a lingerie which was draped in Tiffany diamonds, with an 18k gold necklace. We think it goes without saying; Gaga is MADE for the Met Gala.
2. Katy Perry
Katy Perry did not disappoint in defining the definition of getting ‘lit’. Jeremy Scott; Moschino’s designer explained in Vogue that it took weeks to hand place Swarovski crystals onto Perry’s dress. Invisible to the naked eye, under the dress contains an 18-steel bone corset that holds 2 battery packs to illuminate the chandelier.
3. Saoirse Ronan
Move over Daenerys Targaryen, we think we’ve found another Khaleesi. Giving off the mother-of-dragons vibes, Saoirse dons a Gucci body hugging gown with dragons as shoulder pads. Bow down to this queen!
4. Lupita Nyong’o
Donning Versace, Lupita’s rainbow coloured dress, OTT feathery colourful shoulder wings, matching fan, with golden afro picks; screams Camp. Lupita Nyong’o has definitely made her stamp within the Hollywood fashion industry.
 5. Janelle Monae

Can we just say ‘hats off’ to Janelle? Wearing a pop multicolour outfit from Christian Siriano - a motorised blinking eye over her left breast. In the process, Monae also defied gravity with one hat that held three others on top.
6. Jared Leto
Jared Leto in this show-stopping Gucci long sleeved silk red gown with diamond details is everything. And the wax-like decapitated head clutch? Ugh, LOVE.
7. Hamish Bowles
We wouldn’t put it past Hamish Bowles to look his absolute dandy in this multi-coloured cape which matches his colourful hair. – he is pulling out all of the stops in. the lavender suit.
8. Billy Porter
Would you expect anything less from Queen Billy Porter being brought onto the pink carpet by 6 shirtless men?  No, we didn’t think so. Like, really, look at this sparkly Egyptian queen.
9. Darren Criss
He is too damn good at this! The only thing that should satisfy your Tuesday is Darren in this harlequin jacket and his eye makeup that matches everything that he is trying to embody on the pink carpet.
10. Ezra Miller
We have saved the best for last. Dressed in Burberry, this beautiful human being also strutted the pink carpet with bejeweled corset and oxfords covered with diamonds. Hiding his face behind a mask in the beginning, he then showcased his multiple sets of eyes for the evening, with a stunning red lip.
