Local designer Mim Harvey of Harvey The Label designs some of the most versatile and modern designer pieces we’ve had the pleasure of wearing. Her fashion is trendy yet affordable, sleek and chic; Harvey The Label encompasses styles for every woman and every figure. Including a range of dresses, shirts, playsuits and skirts that come in funky print, pastel pinks and (of course) monochrome, Harvey The Label guarantees something fun and fashionable for everyone.
Our Harvey The Label editorial was shot by the Torrens River, featuring an industrial cityscape background to compliment our polished looks. We combined a total of four outfits each, incorporating a statement Harvey The Label garment each time.
We couldn’t get enough of these two ensembles. Mel wears the ever feminine Harvey The Label Pointe Party Dress in Flora, which is a playful strapless dress oh-so suited to its name ‘Party Dress’. The pastel pink colour adds to the dress’ playful nature, and its swishy skirt makes the Pointe Party dress super fun to twirl around in. The Flora design incorporates a black print resembling flowers, which we complimented using matching black accessories.
The dress effectively contrasts Kristen’s clean-cut monochrome outfit, featuring the Harvey The Label Aurora Shirt and a long, black skirt. The Aurora shirt is a very wearable choice, and can be paired with anything from the likes of jeans, shorts and skirts. Its long sleeves are perforated – a very trendy, contemporary style – and the gold buttons give the shirt some glamour flair. Dress the Aurora shirt to your liking – corporate, daywear or even nightwear, it’s entirely versatile.
We played around with the Flora print again, with Kristen styling the stunning Knives Crop in Flora against a pair staple black jeans. This crop is effortlessly chic and screams elegance, with a unique split in flared sleeves and high-lo hem cut.
Mel wears the white, chiffon Casper Top which just so happens to be on sale here. We can’t express our love enough for this item; it is such an essential addition to the wardrobe. Anyone who wears this top looks instantly elongated, and it particularly lengthens the legs when paired with shorts. Isn’t that what every girl wants? We recommended wearing the Casper Top with a strappy black bralette underneath for an edgy, stylish look – incase you haven’t noticed, visible bralettes are all the rage right now.
If there’s one thing we love at The Adelaidian, it’s a fashionable back feature. These two tops from Harvey The Label include pretty backless cuts in contrasting white and black. Kristen’s white Hanger Backless Shirt has been styled with Harvey The Label high-waisted black Knight Skirt, somewhat likening to a French-style influence of fashion with an accompanying wide-brimmed black hat.
Mel wears her appropriately named Cityscape Backless Top in a signature Harvey print. She pairs the top with plain black rider pants from American Apparel and, like Kristen, a big, black hat. Underneath the top she wears a strappy bralette, but the Cityscape Top looks just as good minus the bra with the whole back showing.
Mel carries on the signature Harvey print in reverse black and white, this time in the High Times wrap shirt. Kristen also wears a wrap shirt: the Hurricane Shirt. Both shirts can be tied in a number of ways to make for a different look each time, which is what we love about Harvey The Label – versatility is consistent. It’s like playing with condiments on your food; The small changes make a big difference in flavour (or, in the case of fashion, style).
Big shout out to the ever so talented Katherine Andonas of Makeup by Katherine for doing our pale pink-toned makeup looks to correlate with the pastel pink colour used throughout the Harvey collection.
